Abstract

In order to acquire the high accuracy and fast prediction of standing volume, the measurement of tree volume needed to be done with high precision. Model for estimating tree volume could be used to develop tree volume table. The purpose of this research was to develop model for estimating tree volume with high precision of Alstonia scholaris in Musi Rawas Regency-South Sumatera. Six regression equations were used to develop model based on diameter and height of tree. The criteria used for the best model were: the highest corrected determination coefficient (R), the smallest bias, and the smallest root mean square error (RMSE).The result showed that the best model was obtained for estimating tree volume of Alstonia scholaris V = 0,000077 D H with R = 0,967%, bias 0,007%, and RMSE = 0,044%. root mean square error Agus Sumadi, Agung Wahyu Nugroho dan/ Teten Rahman , Kata kunci : model penduga volume, , diameter, tinggi pohon and Key words : model for estimating tree volume, Alstonia scholaris diameter, height of tree Alstonia scholaris ABSTRACT 2 2,304 0,241 2 ABSTRAK Pendugaan volume tegakan pulai yang cepat, akurat, dan teliti sangat tergantung dari ketepatan model penduga volume pohon. Model penduga volume pohon dapat menjadi dasar dalam penyusunan tabel volume pohon. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk melakukan penyusunan model penduga volume pohon yang memiliki ketelitian tinggi untuk jenis pulai gading di Kabupaten Musi Rawas, Sumatera Selatan. Persamaan regresi penyusun model terdiri dari 6 persamaan berdasarkan peubah bebas diameter setinggi dada dan tinggi pohon. Pemilihan model terbaik berdasarkan nilai koefisien determinasi maksimum (R), bias minimum dan terkecil (RMSE). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa model terbaik untuk menduga volume pohon jenis pulai adalah V = 0,000077 D H dengan nilai R = 0,967%, bias 0,007% dan RMSE = 0,044%. 2 2,304 0,241 2
