Abstract
In The Blind Assassin Margaret Atwood has presented the life story of two sisters Iris and Laura Chase in the setting of Canadian society during the periods of First and Second World Wars to the present day. Simultaneously, in this novel she has incorporated a science fiction of the same name with which the novel is entitled. Through the narrative by Iris and by the science fiction written by Laura, Atwood has addressed the fate and plight of women in this patriarchal society. The bizarre characters from the science fiction symbolise and represent the characters of the principal plot.
