Abstract

1. Aspects of the fauna of peat bogs. The study of the fauna of the peat bogs of the Oredon region (Hautes-Pyrénées) has provided a list of 87 species of Rhizopoda testacea. The global appearance of the fauna varies from one biotope to another and it is possible to construct mathematical modells of Factors which take these variations into account and which, up to a certain point, can be concretized. The calculation of the coenotical affinities of the species shows that 13 communities can be differentiated. Their composition is dependent on Factors amongst which the quantity of water available seems to play an important part. © Masson, 1965.
