Abstract

On the basis of a study of 50 patients, it is concluded that a mean dose of epinephrine of 7.8 μg/kg together with lidocaine can be used safely for the closure of cleft palate. The mechanical stimulus produced by the epinephrine injection can cause cardiac arrhythmias.
