Abstract

This is the 3rd edition of a book originally written by Louis W. Zeigler and Herbert S. Wolfe. Chapters on the origin and history of citrus cultivation, the wide range of species and cultivars grown, propagation, climatic and soil factors, planting, fruit production, fertilizer application, pest management, grove maintenance, harvesting, quality and grading have been updated to cover advances in the 15 years since the 2nd edition was published. There is a final chapter on domestic citrus production in gardens and appendices are provided on the keeping of grove records, comparative production costs in 3 areas and establishment costs for the first 4 years of grove life in S. Florida.
