Abstract

Different types of polarization radiation generated by a relativistic electron beam are simulated using fully electromagnetic particle-in-cell (PIC) code KARAT. The simulation results for diffraction radiation, transition radiation, Smith-Purcell radiation and Vavilov-Cherenkov radiation are in a good agreement with experimental data and analytical models. Modern PIC simulation is a good tool to check and predict experimental results. © Published under licence by IOP Publishing Ltd.
