Abstract

The I-V characteristics of rectangular self-resonant Josephson junctions are derived in the weak-coupling limit for arbitrary magnetic field orientations. It is found that in general the full set of cavity modes should be excited. The behavior of a quasi-one-dimensional strip-line junction is then seen to be simply a special case of the above result.
