Abstract

Chondrosarcoma of the synovium is rare. It may arise de novo from the synovium or pre-existing synovial chondromatosis may undergo malignant transformation into chondrosarcoma. Diagnosing a malignant transformation of the synovium remains a big challenge. It is based on the correlation of clinical findings, imaging and histology, as illustrated in this case report.
