Abstract

Due to the complexity of operation and the purpose of the gearboxes, they must ensure lubrication and proper cooling of the gears in motion to prevent jamming and premature wear. For gear lubrication, grease and mineral oils are the most commonly used. The lubricant must be chosen in such a way that it does not degrade the gears, seals or bearings and has great stability in operation. The main purpose of this paper is to show the benefits of choosing a correct type of lubricant.
