Abstract
In order to determine how much storage would be required to cope with stormwater tunnels at Folkestone, Southern Water Services asked WRc to carry out a modelling study. Using an existing hydraulic model of Folkestone (called WALLRUS), the WRc built a simplified sewer flow model, or SMARTS. SMARTS allowed spill performance over 15 years to be simulated. This article describes the results and conclusions of the study. (S.E.Brown)
