Abstract
This study investigates the impact of remote work on employee engagement and productivity in the post-pandemic era, utilizing a qualitative approach through a comprehensive literature review. The COVID-19 pandemic accelerated the adoption of remote work, reshaping traditional work structures and influencing employee behaviors. Drawing on a wide array of academic articles, reports, and case studies, this research explores how remote work has affected employee engagement, focusing on aspects such as job satisfaction, work-life balance, communication, and organizational culture. Furthermore, the study examines the effects of remote work on productivity, identifying both positive outcomes, such as increased flexibility and time savings, and challenges, such as isolation and difficulties in maintaining work-life boundaries. The findings reveal that while remote work offers significant benefits in terms of flexibility and autonomy, its impact on employee engagement and productivity is nuanced, with variations depending on individual, organizational, and industry factors. This paper contributes to the growing body of literature by providing a synthesis of current research on the post-pandemic remote work environment, offering insights for managers and policymakers aiming to optimize work arrangements in the new normal. The study highlights the importance of creating supportive remote work policies and fostering a culture of trust and communication to enhance employee engagement and productivity.
