Abstract
The interactions of the new ligand bis(2-bromophenyl)disulfide (BrPh)2S2 = L with transition metalions are described. Octahedral complexes [ML2C12(H20)] (M = Mn(II), Fe(II), Co(II) or Ni(II)) and [CrL2Cl2(H20)2]Cl were obtained and characterized by physicochemical and spectroscopic methods which suggest that the bis(2-bromophenyl)disulfide behaves as a monodentate ligand. © 2009 Sociedad Chilena de Química.
