Abstract

Address to the Indian Science Congress Association at Varanasi, January 1981. Emphasises the role of population growth in causing pollution. Makes distinctions between natural and synthetic pollutants and between source and pattern of use. Discusses more closely air and noise pollution, ionising radiation, and genetic dangers from such pollution. Concludes with 30 recommendations for action.-C.D.Wood
