Abstract

Liz dies in a traffic accident shortly before her sixteenth birthday. She begins her new life in Elsewhere, a world where she becomes younger each day and learns about her spirit, which will be born back into earth. In the process of accepting her death, weaning herself from her earthly life, and discovering her talents, she bonds with the grandmother she never met, falls in love with another Elsewhere citizen who also struggles to accept his death, and forgives her hit-and-run killer. Death allows her to experience and enjoy many lives instead of just one.
