Abstract

RÉSUMÉFemmes, soins domestiques et espace thérapeutiqueLes soins domestiques constituent un volet essentiel des systèmes ethnomédicaux et les femmes sont, dans la plupart des sociétés, sinon dans toutes, celles qui développent, dispensent et transmettent les pratiques et les savoirs qui leurs sont reliés. Dans le Québec francophone des années 1930-1960, les soins domestiques constituaient la principale ressource thérapeutique, avant toute autre forme de recours, totamment médical et religieux. L'article propose de comprendre l'univers des soins domestiques au cours de cette période comme la pierre angulaire de l'espace thérapeutique et comme point de départ de l'itinéraire thérapeutique. D propose également de situer le genre et la maisonnée comme des concepts clefs devant être articulés à la relecture du concept d'itinéraire thérapeutique. Sur le plan théorique, l'hypothèse tend à démontrer l'importance d'une articulation systématique des univers publics et privés pour saisir la totalité de l'espace thérapeutique dans les divers systèmes ethnomédicaux.Mots clés : Saillant, soins, ethnomédecine, femmes, vie domestique, anthropologie médicale, QuébecABSTRACTWomen, Domestic Care, and Therapeutic SpaceDomestic care are an essential part of the ethnomedical Systems and women, in most societies and probably ail of them, develop, use, and transmit thoses practices and the associated knowledge. During the years 1930-1960 in the Quebec francophone society, domestic care were the main therapeutic resource, among ail other possible practices, including the medical and the religious spheres. This article deals with the sphere of domestic care during this period as the key feature of the therapeutic arena, and basis of the therapeutic management. Gender and household should be introduced and articulated as key concepts to reformulate the concept of therapeutic management On the theoretical level, the hypothesis puts emphasis on the systematic articulation of the public and private spheres to analyse the whole therapeutic arena in various ethnomedical Systems.Key words : Saillant, care, ethnomedicine, domestic life, anthropological medicine, Quebec
