Abstract
This report describes a project undertaken to assess the changing geographies of poverty and wealth in Britain over the past three decades of the 20th century, alongside additional material to bring the research up to the present day. Using established methodology —that used for the Breadline Britain indices— we constructed a coherent set of poverty measures for unchanging geographical areas for time periods around 1970, 1980, 1990 and 2000. For the same areas, we also constructed a number of novel measures of wealth.
