Abstract

The political mediation, as mediation in general, is making its way as an effective practice for the improvement and resolution of complex conflicts. The progress in its development and its positive estimation by the society, are gradually recognized, but as a way to do rather than an object of scien-tific reflection; but this perspective is particularly needed to know more and better, both from the perspective of basic and applied research. To achieve this it's necessary to present an up to date situation of the issue to, at least, determine its boundaries: Concepts, processes, problems, difficulties, its negotiating base and also its undeniable relationship with politics and political science.
