Abstract
The structural properties of cyclodextrins and of linear mal- tooligosaccharides of chain lengths 5 to 20 are discussed. The latter are prepared by enzymatic synthesis and characterized by circular dichroism spectroscopy. The crystal structure of a maltohexaoside and of cyclodextrin inclusion compounds are discussed in terms of polyiodide complexation and hydrogen bonding. © 1993 IUPAC
