Meeting the Needs of Diverse Students: Enhancing School Counselors’ Experience

Abstract

The article focuses on a project led by counselor educators at Kansas State University in teaming up with the actual academic advisors and school counselors, which will develop the experiences of school counseling candidates in meeting the needs of diverse students. It explores several frames the project team has carried out to help enhance the communication of counselors with their student success. It also relates retention issues for diverse students at both secondary and postsecondary levels.
