Abstract

The individual effect of resistance inducers acibenzolar-s- methyl and potassium phosphate and the mixture with propiconazole on the severity of black and yellow Sigatokas as well as on growth and production of Dominico Harton plantain (Musa AAB) was evaluated. Also the economic impact of the treatments was determined. The study was carried out at the 'Montelindo' farm (property of the Universidad de Caldas) with an annual rainfall of 2100mm, relative humidity of 76%, average temperature of 23.5°C and altitude of 1010m.Treatments caused a phytosanitary situation, similar to the conventional management; in terms of yield, those treatments with the two doses of acibenzolar-s-methyl (40 y 80mL ha-1) and in mixture with the fungicide propiconazole 40 y 200mL ha-1, showed differences of 6.0, 3.0 and 5.4tha-1 respectively, with respect to the untreated control; treatments with potassium phosphite and the fungicide alone did not show statistical difference with the control.
