Abstract

During our investigation to search useful derivatives of dimethyl sulfoxide, we encountered a new sulfoxide, methyl methylthiomethyl sulfoxide which was also named formaldehyde dimethyl dithioacetal S-oxide. Now, this compound is designated conveniently as “FAMSO” by abbreviating the latter name. © 1979, The Society of Synthetic Organic Chemistry, Japan. All rights reserved.
