Abstract

The objective of this paper is to analyze the experiences of textile workers of Blumenau (1960-68) in relation to labor and the values and rites of June festivals, with emphasis on the constitution of their class cultures, based on their forms of everyday life at the factory, articulated with their expression of ideas and actions on the festive calendar. The coexistence between minors, women and men working in the Blumenau textile industry indicates a diversity of concrete actions on formulation of their class cultures, both in their working spaces and in the June festivals, demonstrating the strength of human agency on the elaboration of networks of solidarity and cultural circularity intrinsic to the world of work.
