Cultura e natureza: os desafios das práticas preservacionistas na esfera do patrimônio cultural e ambiental

Abstract

Este artigo trata das práticas preservacionistas adotadas na América Latina, privilegiando o desafio de associar o reconhecimento de identidades plurais à preservação do patrimônio cultural. Para tanto, destaca como as relações entre natureza e cultura têm se manifestado nas concepções do patrimônio e norteado ações pontuais na esfera da reabilitação dos núcleos históricos e no âmbito da educação patrimonial e ambiental, tomadas como instrumentos para a construção da cidadania e do desenvolvimento sustentável.This article treats of the preservation practices adopted in Latin America, focusing the challenge of associating the recognition of plural identities with the preservation of cultural patrimony. It highlights how the relationships between nature and culture have appeared in the conceptions of historical patrimony and orientated punctual actions in the sphere of the rehabilitation of the historical nuclei and in the extent of the patrimonial and environmental education, taken as instruments for the construction of citizenship and maintainable development.
