Abstract

Two computational models, the extended Furnas and the extended Westman model for the random packing limit of the multimodal particle mixtures, are proposed in this paper. The proposed models have been applied to predict the random dense packing limit of binary, ternary, as well as quaternary mixtures containing either spherical or nonspherical particles. The model predictions are in good agreement with the available published data. © 2002 Elsevier Science B.V. All rights reserved.
