Reports on the publication of a draft code of conduct for editors of scientific journals in Great Britain by the Committee on Publication Ethics. Retraction by several researchers of their interpretation of the results of their research which suggested a link between the combined measles, mumps and rubella vaccine and autism, published in a 1998 issue of "Lancet"; Importance of accuracy and on the publishing of apologies whenever it is appropriate; Responsibility of editors in ensuring the ethical conduction of research works they publish.
