Abstract

This study shows the impact of having a Quality Management System certified to ISO 9001 in companies in Ecuador, based on the nine factors that measure the success of Total Quality Management (TQM) implementation. 163 companies were analyzed with the aim to compare the ISO 9001 certified companies and those without the certification. The results showed that the companies with ISO 9001 certification obtained better average than those companies that do not have the certification. These results support the similar studies conducted in Peru and Colombia.
