Abstract

New evidence from the internal male reproductive organs is presented to support a family status for Scutelleridae. From a study of nineteen genera, generalizations are made regarding the conducting chamber in Scutellerinae. Relationship of three subfamilies of Scutelleridae is discussed from a study of the genitalia of twenty three genera. The vesica is claimed to be a modification of the conjunctiva.
