PENGENDALIAN ORGANISME PENGGANGU TANAMAN PADA SISTEM BUDIDAYA HIDROPONIK

Abstract

Abstrak: Budidaya hidroponik dituntut menghasilkan produk yang lebih unggul dari pertanian konvensional sehingga memiliki nilai jual yang lebih tinggi. Salah satu kendala hidroponik berupa serangan organisme pengganggu tanaman (OPT). Serangan OPT bukan hanya menurunkan produksi, tetapi juga menyebabkan produk hortikultura tidak diterima pasar. Mitra kegiatan ini terdiri atas kelompok pemuda yang memilki ketertarikan pada hidroponik dan Mitra pemilik hidroponik. Masalah utama budidaya hidroponik adalah serangan OPT yang menyebabka produk hortikultura tidak dapat dijual. Tujuan pengabdian masyarakat berupa pengenalan budidaya hidroponik dan penerapan pengendalian OPT. Metode yang dilakukan berupa ceramah/diskusi, praktik, dan evaluasi terhadap 20 orang anggota mitra. Hasil yang diperoleh menunjukkan bahwa semua mitra mengenal dengan baik sistem hidroponik dan mengenal OPT di bidang pertanian. Namun demikian secara umum mitra tidak mengetahui keberadaan, tingkat kerugian dan penerapan pengendalian OPT pada sistem hidroponik. Pengetahuan mitra sebelum kegiatan hanya mencapai 12% atau kategori rendah dan meningkat menjadi 100% atau memiliki pengetahuan baik setelah praktek dengan melihat langsung penerapan pengendalian dan gangguan OPT yang terjadi pada sistem hidroponik.Abstract: Hydroponic cultivation is required to produce superior products compared to conventional agriculture in order to have higher market value. One of the challenges in hydroponics is the attack of plant pests and diseases. Pest attacks not only reduce production but also make horticultural products unsellable in the market. The partners in this activity are a group of young people interested in hydroponics and hydroponic owners. The main problem in hydroponic cultivation is pest attacks that make horticultural products unsellable. The aim of this community service is to introduce hydroponic cultivation and the application of pest control. The methods used are lectures/discussions, practices, and evaluations of 20 partner members. The results show that all partners are familiar with the hydroponic system and know about plant pests and diseases in agriculture. However, in general, the partners are not aware of the existence, level of loss, and application of pest control in the hydroponic system. The partners' knowledge before the activity was only 12% or low category and increased to 100% or had good knowledge after practicing and observing the application of pest control and pest attacks that occur in the hydroponic system.
