Abstract

In Indonesia, generally the use of blood clams is limited as protein source. However its shell have not been used widely. Blood clams shells has high calcium carbonate (CaCO3) content, so it can be synthesized to be calcium based product. The purpose of this research is to produce calcium phospate from blood clams shell and phospate acid and to study its reaction kinetics. The procedures of this reserach are, firstly blood clam shells are crushed into around 200 mesh. Secondly, pour 500 ml phosphoric acid into 40 grams of crushed blood clams shell then stirred by 300 rpm speed. The reaction process in this research have been done with variable reaction temperature 30, 40, 50, 60, and 70 in celcius and reaction time 30, 40, 50, 60, and 70 in minutes. The results show that the controlling reaction is chemical reaction and the reaction follows a pseudo first order reaction with the constant of reaction í µí±˜ = 0,1518 í µí±’ 660,01 í µí±‡ .
