Abstract

Introduction: Quality nursing care services can be realized through complete documentation. Incomplete documentation of nursing care is still found, which still a problem in hospitals is. One factor that influences the practice of nursing documentation is supervision, the attitude of nurses, training, nurse-patient comparisons, motivation, and knowledge of nurses. Purpose: This research was conducted to see the relationship between the effectiveness of training and supervision in improving the quality of nursing care documentation. Methods: The journals used in the literature review totaled twenty journals. Journal searches were carried out through three databases: EBSCO, ProQuest, and Google Scholar. Results: The results show an influence between supervision and knowledge on the documentation of nursing care. The supervisor, in this case, the head of the room, plays a role in directing nurses, especially in documenting nursing care. The part of nurse knowledge itself needs to be increased so that nursing care documentation can be carried out optimally. The managerial role's importance is conducting nursing care documentation training for practicing nurses. Conclusion: Implementation of documentation with supervision using either electronic or paper-based formats can improve the quality of nursing care documentation and will positively impact the confidence and motivation of nurses in documenting.
