Abstract

Aim: To study the effect of MWM on acromiohumeral distance, pain and disability in patients with Shoulder Impingement Syndrome. Method: Fifteen subjects with shoulder impingement syndrome were selected. Participants were treated with MWM posterolateral glide for shoulder for 6 sessions. The main outcome measures includedultrasonographic measurement of the acromiohumeral distance, VAS, SPADI and DASH scale. Results: There were extremely significant changes seen in the acromiohumeral distance in patients with impingement pre and post MWM treatment with p value of <0.0001. Pain and disability also showed extremely significant changes with a p value of <0.0001. Conclusion: The study concludes that MWM is effective in increasing the acromiohumeral distance and in reducing pain and disability in patients with shoulder impingement syndrome.
