Abstract
The Ralstonia genus contains species of primarily environmental origin. The type species Ralstonia pickettii has been implicated in human pathogenicity and is a contaminant of high purity water (HPW) used in the manufacturing of medical injectibles and reagents. Another key member, Ralstonia solanacearum, is a major plant pathogen with a wide host range.
