Abstract

The vegetation of the Tokelau Islands is briefly described. A list of plants from Nukunonu atoll is given, based on recent plant collections made by Dr K. Wodzicki. Of sixty-one species six cryptogams and seventeen angiosperms are here reported for the first time from the Tokelau group. Lists of species reported from Fakaofo and Atafu atolls by previous collectors and observers are also given. The local and regional distribution, the life forms and biogeographical relationships of the plants are recorded, with notes on six species of special interest. © 1971 Taylor & Francis Group, LLC.
