Abstract

The ability of electroanalytical techniques such as anodic stripping voltammetry and potentiometric stripping analysis to detect the low concentrations of heavy metals reported in open ocean waters is examined. Detection limits obtainable using current instrumentation are reviewed and the possibility of reducing these limits through instrument modification and the use of multi-scan techniques is reviewed. © 1983.
