Abstract

Tumor recurrence may result from the exhaustion of tumor-associated antigen (TAA)-specific T cells, which often occurs upon chronic antigen stimulation. We have recently shown that the blockade of the T-cell inhibitory receptors PD-L1 and LAG-3 restores TAA-specific CD4+ T-cell functions in mice bearing recurrent neoplasms, resulting in robust antineoplastic effects. © 2013 Landes Bioscience.
