Abstract

The study explored teachers’ practices of classroom assessment in Social Science and their current practices. Explicitly, the study aimed at gaining an understanding as to how teachers assess in their classrooms and the challenges they face while carrying out assessment. A qualitative study was carried out using questionnaires and interviews. A total of sixty participants were selected purposefully to gain data for this study. The study revealed that that upper primary Social Science teacher faces a lot of challenges while carrying out classroom assessment.
