Abstract
Sugar-sweetened beverage (SSB) consumption accounts for one-third of American's sugar intake and diet. In this article, we discuss the negative effects of SSB consumption concerning adult oral and systemic overall health. The purpose of this discussion is to highlight the important role of oral health care providers in educating patients regarding sugar intake when selecting SSBs and the health risks associated with SSB consumption.
