This study presents a description of the Denpasar City Government's policy regarding the empowerment of local language teachers, especially Balinese. The application of the policy is actualized as an activity to appoint a Balinese language teacher contract in Denpasar City. The purpose of this study is related to (1) constructivity and (2) correlativeness in empowering Balinese language teachers through the policies of the Denpasar City Government. This study used a qualitative descriptive design. In this case, the research data in the form of the Denpasar City Government policy background was obtained through interviews, the application of the policy obtained through interviews and questionnaires, and the benefits and sustainability of the policy obtained through interviews and questionnaires. Analysis of research data was carried out through reduction, classification, and interpretation. The results of this study indicate that the constructive empowerment of Balinese language teachers through policies from the Denpasar City Government includes (a) the formulation and (b) implementation of the Balinese language teacher contract policy. Meanwhile, the correlativeness of empowering Balinese language teachers through policies from the Denpasar City Government includes (a) the absorption of Balinese language teacher graduates and (b) the availability of Balinese language teachers.
