Abstract

Access to information remains a major challenge for people with disabilities. In this paper, an approximate model of how people access information is proposed. This model is presented in the context of the sequence of goals that must be completed by a user to access an information source. This model has led to the development of a tool, the Accessibility Information Matrix that can be used to guide the design of technologies and techniques for information access. © Springer-Verlag Berlin Heidelberg 2007.
