Abstract

The influence of the indentation size effect on the hardness measurements of materials using indentation method was studied. A method for determining and comparing the hardness of two different materials with studying the indentation size effect was developed. To identify the influence of the indentation size effect on the Vickers hardness of materials with different levels of hardness two-dimensional parameters α and γ were proposed.
