Abstract

We investigated the discrimination of alpha particles based on the analysis of scintillation light collected by a silicon photomultiplier (SiPM). Particle discrimination with a photomultiplier tube was used as a reference to evaluate the efficiency. We compared standard pulse shape discrimination based on the integral of the SiPM signal to an approach based on Time-Over-Threshold, achieving comparable performances.
