The Ayapathu people of Cape York Peninsula: a case of tribal resurgence

Abstract

A study exploring the suppression and re-emergence of the identity of the Ayapathu people of central Cape York Peninsula is presented. It reveals about Aboriginal responses to the colonial and post-colonial eras and contemporary Aboriginal territorial groupings.
