Abstract
This study was motivated by the low understanding of students in the concept of whole number operations. The aim of this study is to describe the application of the Realistic Mathematics Education model assisted by Dienes Blocks in improving the learning outcomes of grade IV students of SDN 1 Paring Lahung. This research was carried out for two cycles. The type of research used is Class Action Research (CAR). Data were collected through observation, tests, and documentation. The results showed that in the first cycle, the number of students who had a minimum score of 70 was 1 student (11.1%) and 8 students (88.8%) did not meet the minimum score of 70 with an average student score of 25.8. In cycle 2, the number of students who met the minimum score of 70 increased significantly, there were 10 students (90.9%) and those who did not meet the minimum score of 70 as many as 1 student (9.1%) with an average score of 84.8. Student learning outcomes have increased from cycle I to cycle II by 79.8%. It can be concluded that the application of the Realistic Mathematics Education model assisted by Dienes Blocks can improve the learning outcomes of grade IV students of SDN 1 Paring Lahung in whole number operations.
