Abstract

Islamic education that is oriented towards Islam Rahmatal Lil Alamin should have a vision of changing the environment in more detail by laying the foundation for the existence of a society with an Islamic culture and character. The realization of Islamic education has not been implemented well in Indonesia, because Islamic education in Indonesia faces various problems. Among these problems is the phenomenon of the religious character crisis that is spreading in Indonesia. One way to overcome this phenomenon is character formation in the world of education through the leadership of religious teachers. This research aims to describe and analyze the implications of religious teacher leadership in shaping student character at MTs. Al-Qodiri Jember's flagship. This research uses a qualitative approach. The results of his research show that the leadership of religious teachers shapes the character of students at MTs. Al-Qodiri Jember's superiority is demonstrated by direct handling by the class teacher of children who often commit violations by approaching and controlling so that an honest and disciplined character is formed in the students.
