Abstract

Examines the use of integrated conservation and development projects (ICDPs) in Africa. ICDPs as a new approach to the conservation of biodiversity and ecological systems in developing countries; The desire to set a dual focus on biological conservation and human development and to link them in such a way that each fosters the other; Examples from various regions in Africa; Analysis; Conclusions.
