Abstract

The constant changes in the job market have demanded people's increasing professional qualification and contributed to the relevance of research to understand the phenomenon Professional Development. This study aimed to carry out a conceptual analysis of Professional Development, which is a technique indicated for theoretical refinement processes. The result of this study has identified that there is great convergence between what is called Professional Development in common sense and the way the term is understood in the scientific context. The concept is widely used in the areas of Education, Administration and Psychology and is associated with growth, progression, capacity building and skills.
