Abstract

3D mapping and navigation of drones is an important issue. In this paper, we propose a method for 3D map building using drones. In our implementation, the drone route is generated automatically after the user selects the target area in the Google map. In addition, we investigate the effect of the camera inclination angle and the drone flying latitude in the quality of generated 3D map. The map is utilized to generate the obstacle free route to the goal location selected by the user. The experiments, using Anafi lightweight drone, show a good performance.
