Abstract

A new mixed ligand coordination polymer [Cd(L)•H2O]n (1) has been synthesized under solvothermal reactions of Cd(NO3)2•4H2O and 2-amino-4, 4′-biphthalic acid (H2L). In complex 1, the coordination waters linked adjacent Cd(II) ions to form 1D chain [Cd(H2O)]n, then the -NH2 and carboxylic acid groups in the ligand connect these 1D chains into 3D framework, it shows good thermal and acid/base stability. Photoluminescent experiments show that complex 1 exhibits excellent sensitive and selective detections abilities for 2, 4, 6-trinitrophenol (TNP) and 4-nitrophenol (4-NP). As well, the detection mechanism of complex 1 for nitro compounds were also further investigated by both experimentations and calculations.
