Relación entre las emisiones de co2, el consumo de energía y el pib: el caso de los civets

Abstract

This paper evaluates t he existent relation between CO 2 emissions (Carbon D ioxide), energy consump tion and GDP f or th e group of coun tries known as C] VETS (Colombia , Indonesia, Vietnam, E gypt, T urkey and Sout h Africa), in th e peri cx:11985~2007. T o prove t hese relations , a stationary da ta panel meth cdology is usedsupporte d by unitary root an d cointegra tion tests.l t is concluded t hat i n t he l ong term, economic growth and energy consumption are critical in explaining global wann ing th rotgh increases in CO 2 emissions f or C!VETS. Fi na ll y, empiric evidence is presente d t hat proves t he existence of a Kuznets E nvironmental Curve f or t he group of coun tries s tudied, which can prove t hat increases i n t he per capita GDP increase t he CO 2 emissions, bu t a ftert he GDP reaches a certain level emissions decrease.
