Abstract

The quality of scientific paper writing is an important indicator in the development of Islamic Education. However, many scientific works still experience weaknesses in terms of theoretical framework, conceptual consistency, and depth of argumentation that indicate a lack of understanding of the philosophical foundations of science. The purpose of this research is to analyze the role of philosophy of science as a framework in improving the quality of writing scientific papers in Islamic Education, especially the role of onology, epistemology, and axiology. The research uses a qualitative approach with the library research method. Data was collected from philosophy of science books, indexed journal articles, and relevant academic documents, then analyzed through content analysis by triangulating sources. The study found that philosophy of science plays a fundamental role through three dimensions. Ontology determines the focus of research and the definition of variables, preventing generalizations that do not correspond to reality. Epistemology is a systematic foundation that integrates modern empirical perspectives with Islamic epistemology (bayani, burhani, irfani) to produce comprehensive research. Axiology is a value reference that prevents plagiarism and ensures that scientific works not only pursue scientific truth but also spread benefits. The integration of Popper's perspectives (criticism), Kuhn (paradigmatic consciousness), and Zubaedi (Western-Islamic synthesis) strengthens the application of these three dimensions. The integration of ontology, epistemology, and axiology is the key to improving the quality of scientific work that combines truth, rationality, and benefit. The research provides implementable recommendations for researchers, lecturers, and academic institutions to strengthen the philosophical foundation in producing valid, ethical, and tangible scientific works of Islamic Education. The quality of scientific writing is an important indicator in the development of a scientific discipline, including Islamic Education. This study aims to analyze the role of philosophy of science as a framework in improving the quality of scientific writing in Islamic Education. Using a library research approach, this study examines literature related to the philosophy of science, Islamic epistemology, and the problems of academic writing in Islamic Education. The results of the study indicate that the role of philosophy of science in research and scientific writing in Islamic Education is very fundamental. Ontology plays a role in determining the focus of research and the definition of variables to be analyzed, epistemology serves as a foundation that allows research to proceed systematically and produce valid and measurable scientific work, and axiology serves as a reference for values in writing scientific papers. Axiology also prevents researchers from plagiarism, misinterpretation, and misuse of research results. By consistently applying the three pillars of philosophy of science, scientific works in Islamic education will be more valid, ethical, and make a real contribution to the development of science and educational practice.
